IDAHOBIT 2017 - Rainbow Cakes
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Middlesbrough College for raising £76.61 for our youth group ‘Born to Be’ to spend on activities.
Middlesbrough College planned and facilitated a coffee morning to support International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, also known as IDAHOBIT last Tuesday and successfully managed to raise £76.61 for our charity by selling rainbow cakes to students and staff.
Over the past few months we have seen a significant relationship developing between our organisation and Middlesbrough College and we are extremely excited about continued future partnership work. It’s great to see local colleges promoting equality and valuing diversity by delivering events and working with local LGB/T* communities to raise awareness. It’s imperative that students feel open and comfortable enough with staff members to talk about any issues they may have around their sexuality and/or gender identity, this type of work hopefully demonstrates to current and future students that Middlesbrough College is a safe space to be LGB/T*.
For any student or staff members wanting to discuss all things LGB/T* there will be a monthly drop in session happening at the Wellbeing Hub over at the main reception in the college. The next two sessions planned are on Thurs 25th May and Thurs 22nd June, for more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
On behalf of Hart Gables staff and service users we would like to thank Middlesbrough College for your on-going support and donation to our youth project.
